Water Element

In Alchemy and Earth magick, the Water Element represents emotion, intuition, healing or purification, as well as the subconscious. It’s associated with cleansing, receptivity, dreams, and the “flow of life”. It is the element of feeling, depth, and transformation. The Water Element dissolves, nurtures, and also expands and connects - guiding inner alchemy through emotion and intuition.

The Water Element is associated with the Cardinal direction of the West, the season of Autumn, and the 2nd alchemical stage of Dissolution (softening the rigid structures of the ego) and the astrological signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. It’s symbols include rivers, streams, lakes, tides, rain, all manner of watery weather and places on Earth. Also tears. It’s symbols include the chalice, the cauldron, the vessel, seashells, the colors of blue and aquamarine, and all types of glass materials.
